Terminals

Application and Features

An air terminal, also known as a lightning rod, consists of a pointed tip rod made from conductive materials such as copper or aluminum. It positions itself above all other metallic objects on a building to offer external protection against direct lightning strikes.

Advantages

  •  Protection – air terminals protect buildings and residential areas during thunderstorms by acting as the interception point for lightning strikes.
  • Note – To ensure safety, the air terminal needs a sufficient conductor and earthing network. This setup helps divide the current and establishes a path of least resistance for it to reach the ground.
